1. Abstract painter, educator, peacebuilder

Beginning together

Sara makes work that connects with and helps to raise awareness of marginalised or forgotten communities. Her most recent paintings and installations – all on paper –  integrate artwork collaboratively-created with groups of participators around the world.

Other abstract pieces created alone in the studio, celebrate and encourage seeing and doing differently.

Her photographs are truth-telling snapshots highlighting a world increasingly challenged by climate catastrophe and social injustice.

Working with Arts Lab

As the Founding Director of Arts Lab, Sara runs workshops and designs programmes promoting visual art as a means to bring people together and affect social change.

She also runs the Rural Peace Hub from her home and studio in Northumberland, UK – a place for changemakers to connect over coffee, cake and conversation, and get stuck into creative action.
