NEWS

Earlier this year, Sara was in South Africa exploring potential take-up for her Visual Art for Peace programme. See here for the story >>>. Since then, she’s been back in the UK consolidating ideas into new projects and paintings.

After several months of settling in and reflections on what next, Sara has turned her new home into a Rural Peace Hub to host connections, conversation and creative action around all things Arts Lab.

To read about how this came about, head over to Arts Lab’s  blog, Art Matters.

Current Projects

Have a look at Sara’s latest installation – Peaces of Us – created from collage ‘leftovers’ over 30 years old.

Extending her Begun with Others series, she continues to collate and develop material created in participatory workshops in Venice, Rwanda and, most recently South Africa.

Sara is currently volunteering for Northumberland County Council, researching community engagement in the development of Hexham as an Arts Town.

ONGOING Projects

Sara’s ongoing venture with Arts Lab – fusing her artist, educator, and peacebuilder practices – is to promote visual art as a means to develop holistic, creative and practical approaches to resolving conflict and strengthening communities.

Check out her workshops here.

Sara also holds live open studio events at the Rural Peace Hub, and regularly updates Arts Lab’s online Gallery and Art Matters.

As the Founder and Director of Arts Lab since 2016, Sara has designed and led numerous projects in the UK and abroad. Through her socially engaged art practice, she has worked with the criminal justice system, education, mental health, refugees, faith groups, and the art world. Director roles have also included: programme design and development – artist residencies, education, and events; exhibition curation; recruitment; funding applications and accounting; web and social media design and content.
